1. How much does a 215/60 R16 tyre cost in India in 2026?
These are every 215/60 R16 listing in our price sheet, sorted from cheapest. Prices were checked in November 2026 on the two sellers named, and they change often, so treat them as a guide and confirm on the seller's page before you buy.
| Brand | Model | Load / speed (as listed) | Price per tyre | Seller | Listing |

| Pirelli | Cinturato P6 | 99 V | ₹10,923 | tyremarket.com | view |
*tyreplex.com shows a card price on its size listing and does not say whether it is per tyre. tyremarket.com prices are per unit, including taxes. All listings are tubeless.
The same tyre can cost noticeably more on one site than the other. Apollo's Alnac 4G was ₹1,631 dearer on tyreplex.com than on tyremarket.com on the day we checked. tyremarket.com also shows a struck-through figure beside each offer price (₹11,864 for the Primacy 4 ST), which the site does not label as MRP.
Two rows deserve a flag. The Cinturato P6 is not one of the 14 car and SUV products in Pirelli's India catalogue, so it may be old stock, and UltraMile is not a brand whose India range we have checked.
The price range across the whole size
| Seller | Listings counted | Brands | Lowest | Highest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| tyremarket.com size page | 44 | 15 | ₹5,814 | ₹10,923 |
| tyreplex.com size page | 80 variants | 19 | not used* | ₹12,581 |
*tyreplex's headline minimum for this size is below every individual 215/60 R16 listing we recorded, so we have left it out until it can be matched to a tyre.
What a full set of four costs
Four Primacy 4 STs at the recorded price come to ₹41,996, against ₹23,676 for four CEAT SecuraDrives. On top of the tyres, Apollo's own guide puts wheel balancing at ₹150–300 a wheel and four-wheel alignment at ₹1,000–1,500, which it gives as indicative figures. See our car tyre price guide for other sizes.
2. Which cars use 215/60 R16 tyres?
Four popular compact SUVs leave the factory on 215/60 R16 in most of their current variants. The counts below come from each variant's "Tyre Size" field on cardekho.com, checked November 2026.
| Car | Variants on 215/60 R16 | Example variants | Other stock size | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tata Nexon | 59 of 82 | Creative, Creative AMT, Creative CAMO, Creative Diesel and 55 more | 195/60 R16 (Pure Plus variants, 23 of 82) | cardekho |
| Hyundai Venue | 25 of 37 | HX 2 Diesel, HX 2 Turbo, HX 5 Diesel, HX 10 Turbo DCT and 21 more | 195/65 R15 (HX 2, HX 4, HX 5, HX 6, HX 6T and their editions, 12 of 37) | cardekho |
| Kia Sonet | 9 of 10 | HTK Plus, HTX Diesel, GTX Plus Turbo DCT, X-Line Turbo DCT | 195/65 R15 (HTE only) | cardekho |
| Maruti Suzuki Brezza | 19 of 19 | LXi, VXi, ZXi, ZXi CNG and 15 more | none | cardekho |
Base Nexons and the lower Venue variants are the cars most likely to be on a different size, so read the sidewall of the tyre already on your car before ordering. The Hyundai Creta is often mentioned alongside these cars, but none of its 34 current variants uses 215/60 R16; its sizes are on our Hyundai Creta tyre page.
3. What did the ADAC 215/60 R16 test find?
Germany's ADAC motoring club tested 18 summer tyres in 215/60 R16 99V in 2022, on a Skoda Karoq. It is the only independent test at this size we found. ADAC grades work like German school marks: lower is better.
| Place | Tyre (European version) | Overall | Dry | Wet | Noise | Fuel | Wear | On sale in India? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Continental PremiumContact 6 | 2.1 | 1.9 | 2.1 | 2.6 | 1.9 | 2.0 | Sold in India, but launched in 17 to 20 inch rims, so not in this size |
| 2 | Michelin Primacy 4 | 2.1 | 1.7 | 2.5 | 2.8 | 1.4 | 1.5 | Line listed on michelin.in; no 215/60 R16 listing in our price data |
| 3 | Bridgestone Turanza T005 | 2.2 | 1.8 | 2.4 | 2.9 | 1.6 | 2.0 | Named on Bridgestone India's Turanza page; no 215/60 R16 price recorded |
| 4 | Dunlop Sport BluResponse | 2.4 | 2.1 | 2.3 | 2.8 | 2.1 | 2.5 | Not checked |
| 5 | Toyo Proxes Comfort | 2.5 | 2.5 | 2.4 | 2.4 | 2.5 | 2.5 | Not checked |
| 8 | Hankook Ventus Prime 3 K125 | 2.7 | 2.5 | 2.7 | 2.6 | 1.8 | 1.5 | No official Hankook India range found |
Five tyres scored "gut", twelve "befriedigend", and the Kormoran Road Performance came last on 3.7.
Michelin's result is a split one, and it is worth reading the columns rather than the place. The Primacy 4 had the best dry grade, the best fuel grade (1.4) and joint-best wear, yet its wet grade of 2.5 was behind four rivals, including the winning PremiumContact 6 on 2.1. If wet braking is the thing you care about most, the test does not hand Michelin the win.
None of the Indian brands in the price table was in this test. The test is now four years old, and the tyres in it are the European versions; use it as a guide to how these brands compared in Europe, not as a score for the tyre you can buy here.
4. Is there an Indian test of a 215/60 R16 tyre?
One, and it is a single-tyre review rather than a group test. In 2020 evo India fitted the CEAT SecuraDrive in 215/60 R16 to a Kia Sonet and braked from 100 km/h to rest in 43.89 m (3.37 s), against 48.16 m (3.61 s) on the Sonet's original tyres. The review does not name those original tyres or say who supplied the test set.
A European result points the other way. In Auto Bild's 2024 test in a different size, 205/55 R16, the SecuraDrive was knocked out in qualifying under the heading "braking distances too long", stopping in 33.3 m wet and 40.6 m dry.
5. Which 215/60 R16 tyre is best for you?
No independent test has measured an India-sold 215/60 R16 pattern against its rivals, so every pick below rests on weaker evidence than a buyer would want. The last column says how weak.
| If you care most about | Our pick | Price (tyremarket.com, Nov 2026) | Evidence | Evidence type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Braking and wet safety | Michelin Primacy 4 ST | ₹10,499 | Braking 4.5 m shorter than the rival average new, 7.3 m shorter worn (surface not stated) | Commissioned by Michelin |
| Value | CEAT SecuraDrive | ₹5,919 | 43.89 m vs 48.16 m stop on a Sonet; 5-star BEE rating (2022) | Indian magazine review; BEE label |
| Comfort | Apollo Alnac 4G | ₹6,631 | Apollo pitches it for "comfort and control" | Brand positioning only |
| Tread life | Michelin Primacy 4 ST | ₹10,499 | 5-year warranty from purchase date | Warranty terms |
Braking and wet safety: Michelin Primacy 4 ST
The Primacy 4 ST product page cites a test by CATARC, run on Michelin's request in March 2018 in 225/55 R17, that put its braking 4.5 m shorter than the tested competitors' average when new and 7.3 m shorter when worn. That is a commissioned test, its rivals are not named, the footnote does not say whether the road was wet or dry, and its text on Michelin's page is garbled, so it is a brand claim with a tester attached rather than proof. It is still the only braking figure we have found for a tyre on sale in 215/60 R16 here, which is why it gets this slot ahead of a European wet grade for a different pattern.
Value: CEAT SecuraDrive
At ₹5,919 the SecuraDrive was the cheapest 215/60 R16 from a major brand on tyremarket.com. CEAT's SportDrive, SecuraDrive and CrossDrive lines received 5-star BEE ratings in 2022, a label based on rolling resistance with a minimum wet-grip requirement. The Auto Bild elimination above is the reason it is not our wet pick.
Comfort: Apollo Alnac 4G
Nobody has published a measured comfort or noise figure for an India-market 215/60 R16 tyre. Apollo describes the Alnac 4G as built "for Comfort and Control", and that is all this pick stands on. An Alnac 4G was tested by ADAC in 2023 in 205/55 R16 and placed 27th of 50, but whether that European tyre shares a compound with the Indian one is not known.
Tread life: Michelin Primacy 4 ST
Michelin's car-tyre warranty runs 5 years from the date of purchase, where Apollo's and JK Tyre's run 5 years from manufacture. In the ADAC test above, Michelin's European Primacy 4 tied for the best wear grade, though that is a different pattern from the Primacy 4 ST.
What we would buy
For a Nexon or Brezza that does a monsoon highway run every few weeks, we would pay the ₹4,580 a tyre extra for the Primacy 4 ST over the SecuraDrive. For a Venue that rarely leaves the city, the SecuraDrive is the more sensible spend. Michelin's newer Primacy 5 was due on sale from its Chennai plant in the first half of 2026 in 16 to 22 inch sizes, according to Autocar India, which named the Venue, Sonet and Nexon as the cars the 16-inch range suits; we could not confirm it is on sale in 215/60 R16 yet.

6. What does 215/60 R16 mean?
The code on the sidewall describes the tyre's shape, and every part of it has to match what your car's maker specifies.
| Part | Meaning in 215/60 R16 |
|---|---|
| 215 | Tread width in millimetres |
| 60 | Sidewall height as a percentage of width: 60% of 215 mm, or about 129 mm |
| R | Radial construction |
| 16 | Fits a 16-inch wheel |
| 95 H / 99 V | Load index and speed rating; listings in this size come in both |
The ADAC test used the 99 V version. In India every new car tyre must carry the ISI mark under the 2009 quality control order, and since 1 January 2024 every car tyre has had to pass a minimum wet-grip and rolling-resistance test under AIS-142. That result is not printed on the tyre.
