How these prices were collected
Every price on this page was read on tyremarket.com or tyreplex.com on 6 November 2026, and each one links to the listing it came from. Tyre prices change with seller offers and stock, so treat them as a snapshot and check the link before you buy.
The two sellers show prices differently. tyremarket.com gives an offer price that includes taxes, per tyre, beside a higher struck-through figure that it does not call MRP. tyreplex.com shows a price on each listing card without saying whether it is per tyre, and its size pages state a lowest and highest price for the size.
Brand-recommended prices, from michelin.in, are in section 6. Fitting extras come from Apollo's published service ranges. Nothing on this page is a quote from a dealer.
1. What is the car tyre price in India for each size?
The tyremarket.com column is the lowest and highest price among the listings we read for that size (the number of listings is in brackets). Cars are taken from cardekho variant spec pages and show the factory size for some variants, not every one.
2. Tyre prices by brand for the most common sizes
These six sizes cover most of the hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs on Indian roads in the fitment list above. Each price links to its listing. A dash means that seller's listing for the model was not read, not that the tyre is unavailable.

3. Michelin car tyre price in India, by size
Michelin is the brand people most often ask about by price. The table collects every Michelin listing in our price set. Rows marked in brackets are a model or a size that michelin.in does not list today, so those listings may be older stock.
| Size | Michelin model | tyremarket.com |

| 145/80 R12 | Energy XM2+ (size not on michelin.in) | ₹3,833 |
| 155/80 R13 | Energy XM2+ (size not on michelin.in) | ₹4,664 |

| 265/60 R18 | LTX Trail ST | ₹18,970 |

| 265/65 R17 | LTX Force (not on michelin.in) | ₹16,291 |
Of the four lines Michelin is making in Chennai, the LTX Trail ST, Pilot Sport 4 SUV, Pilot Sport 5 and Primacy 5 (Autocar India), only the LTX Trail ST turned up in the seller listings we read. For the Primacy 5 and Pilot Sport range, michelin.in's own starting prices in section 6 are the best figure available.
4. What makes one car tyre cost more than another?
Four patterns run through the tables above. Rim size is fixed by your car, and the rest you choose at the shop.
| Driver | What the prices show |
|---|---|
| Rim size | The cheapest 14-inch listing in 165/80 R14 was ₹3,173; the cheapest 18-inch listing in 235/60 R18 was ₹8,944. |
| Brand, in a car size | In 215/60 R16, the Michelin Primacy 4 ST cost ₹4,580 more than the CEAT SecuraDrive at the same seller. |
| Brand, in a big SUV size | In 265/60 R18 (Fortuner 4x4), the dearest listing was a Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season at ₹27,042, three times the Kenda Klever H/T at ₹8,944. |
| Special builds | The most expensive 195/55 R16 listing was a run-flat Yokohama Advan Sport V103 at ₹16,681; the next-dearest tyre read in that size was ₹9,895. |
Why does the same tyre cost different amounts at different sellers?
For 57 tyres we read a price on both sites. The gap ran from ₹4 (an MRF ZLX in 155/80 R13) to ₹3,037 (an Apollo Apterra HP in 235/60 R18: ₹11,848 on tyremarket.com against ₹14,885 on tyreplex.com). Neither site was always cheaper. Part of that gap is probably variant rather than margin, since tyreplex.com's listing cards do not show the load index or speed rating, and the same model is often sold in more than one version within a single size.
5. How much does it cost to replace all four tyres?
The tyres are most of the bill, and the rest is service work that a shop will usually offer at the same visit. Apollo publishes indicative rates for that work (Apollo Tyres), undated and not specific to any city.
| Item | Cost | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Wheel balancing | ₹150–₹300 per wheel, so ₹600–₹1,200 for four | Apollo, indicative |
| Wheel alignment | ₹500–₹800 (2-wheel) or ₹1,000–₹1,500 (4-wheel) | Apollo, indicative |
| Fitting or mounting charge | Not sourced: the seller pages read did not state one | — |
| New valves | Not sourced | — |
| Old-tyre exchange or disposal | Not sourced | — |
Worked examples, using tyremarket.com prices checked November 2026, and the balancing plus 2-wheel or 4-wheel alignment range above (₹1,100 to ₹2,700):
| Car and size | Tyre | Four tyres | With balancing and alignment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Swift ZXi / Baleno Delta, 185/65 R15 | Apollo Amazer 4G Life, ₹5,449 | ₹21,796 | ₹22,896–₹24,496 |
| MRF ZLX, ₹6,514 | ₹26,056 | ₹27,156–₹28,756 | |
| Michelin Energy XM2+, ₹10,217 | ₹40,868 | ₹41,968–₹43,568 | |
| Nexon / Brezza / Venue HX10, 215/60 R16 | CEAT SecuraDrive, ₹5,919 | ₹23,676 | ₹24,776–₹26,376 |
| Yokohama Earth-1 E400, ₹8,482 | ₹33,928 | ₹35,028–₹36,628 | |
| Michelin Primacy 4 ST, ₹10,499 | ₹41,996 | ₹43,096–₹44,696 | |
| XUV700 / Harrier / Safari, 235/60 R18 | Apollo Apterra HP, ₹11,848 | ₹47,392 | ₹48,492–₹50,092 |
| MRF Wanderer Street, ₹13,499 | ₹53,996 | ₹55,096–₹56,696 | |
| Michelin Primacy SUV+, ₹16,944 | ₹67,776 | ₹68,876–₹70,476 |
Michelin India advises rotating tyres "approximately every 8,000 km to 10,000 km" (Michelin India), which spreads wear and can delay the day all four need replacing together.
When do you have to replace them?
The legal limit for a car tyre is 1.6 mm of tread, under rule 94(3)(iv) of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules (Indian Kanoon). Apollo suggests not waiting that long and changing at 2.3 mm (Apollo). For how worn tread affects wet braking, see the monsoon tyre guide.
6. MRP vs street price: what is the difference?
Three different prices get called "the price" of a tyre in India. They are worth keeping apart.
| Price | Where you see it | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Brand recommended price | Brand website, often as "starts from" for the cheapest size of a line | Michelin Primacy 4 ST from ₹9,650 on michelin.in |
| Seller's struck-through price | Next to the offer price on tyremarket.com; not labelled MRP | Primacy 4 ST 215/60 R16: ₹11,864 struck through |
| Offer price | What tyremarket.com charges, taxes included | The same tyre at ₹10,499 |
Michelin India's recommended "starts from" prices, as michelin.in showed them in November 2026:
| Michelin line | Starts from |
|---|---|
| Energy XM2+ | ₹9,000 |
| Primacy 5 | ₹9,450 |
| Primacy 4 ST | ₹9,650 |
| Pilot Sport 5 | ₹11,100 |
| Primacy SUV+ | ₹12,500 |
| Primacy 4 | ₹14,100 |
| LTX Trail ST | ₹15,700 |
| Pilot Sport 4 SUV | ₹20,300 |
| Primacy 3 | ₹21,250 |
| Latitude Sport 3 | ₹23,150 |
| Pilot Sport 4 | ₹25,000 |
On tyremarket.com, the offer price was 4% to 15% below the struck-through figure across 122 listings, with a median of 6.6%. The gap to Michelin's own recommended price can be much wider. tyremarket.com listed the Energy XM2+ in 165/70 R14 at ₹4,518, half of michelin.in's ₹9,000 starting price for the line, and the Primacy 4 ST in 195/60 R15 at ₹7,904 against a ₹9,650 start. Our sources do not show whether michelin.in lists those exact sizes, so the gap may be a seller discount, a size Michelin no longer prices, or both.
7. Does the warranty change what you are paying for?
Tyre warranties in India cover manufacturing defects and are settled pro-rata on the tread left, so they rarely decide a purchase. The start date differs, and on a tyre that sat in a warehouse that matters.
| Brand | Car tyre warranty | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Michelin | 5 years from the date of purchase, or until the legal minimum tread, whichever comes first; road hazards not covered | michelin.in |
| MRF | 6 years from the month of manufacture, pro-rata | mrftyres.com |
| Apollo | 5 years from the week of manufacture, pro-rata, up to 1.6 mm | apollotyres.com |
| Continental | 5 years from the week of production | continental-tires.com |
| JK Tyre | 5 years from manufacture or invoice, or until the tread wear indicator (read on JK's international site) | JK Tyre |
| CEAT | Term not confirmed; a free 6-month extension on online registration | ceat.com |
| Bridgestone, Goodyear, Yokohama | Not confirmed; the India warranty pages did not load | — |
Michelin's is the only one here that runs purely from the purchase date; JK's counts from manufacture or invoice.
8. Are expensive tyres worth it on Indian roads?
On price alone, a Michelin set for a 215/60 R16 car costs about ₹18,300 more than a CEAT SecuraDrive set at the same seller. What that buys is not something a price table can show, and the evidence on what it buys is uneven by size.
For SUVs on 17-inch wheels and up, one independent test measured a gap of 13.7 m in wet braking between the best and worst tyre, with a Michelin sold in India at the top, as the monsoon tyre guide sets out. For 14- and 15-inch hatchbacks, no independent test covers a tyre confirmed on sale in India at those sizes, and no source we found gives a sourced kilometre figure for any brand on Indian roads, so a cost-per-kilometre comparison cannot be made honestly. If the car is a Swift or Dzire that mostly does city runs, the mid-priced Indian tyres in the tables above are the sensible buy; if it is a seven-seat SUV that does long highway trips in the rain, the extra ₹20,000 or so for a premium set has the stronger case.
